Anime Studio Debut 8 is the inexpensive version of this well regarded 2D animation software. At this time (12/16/2011) it sells for $49.99.
I don’t have much experience with Anime Studio. I have it so I can learn traditional cartoon-style 2D animation. I might want to create cartoons based on my book if it becomes popular. I might want to create satirical videos for YouTube.

I intend to list free and low-cost training resources for each software package. This will come eventually, but if I wait until everything is complete, I’ll never go live with this blog.
